Dialogue

Offer: Rune Agent Flasha

What's going on today?

Are you trying to make another Blended Rune?

  • No, I'm here for something else today.

No?

Hmm? Then what brings you here?

  • Do you... know anything about Turner?

Ah, Turner.

You want some information on him?

Hmm.

Don't you think it might be better to ask him yourself?

  • Me? Ask him?

Why not?

I think that if you want to know something about a person, the best approach is to go straight to the horse's mouth.

Hmm, it's not because I don't know him that I'm saying this.

  • It seems like he doesn't actually know much about Turner.

Anyway, I've also been wondering about Turner.

Aren't we all? He isn't the most approachable fellow, you know.

I'll tell you where he is. Just give me a few juicy tidbits from what you learn.

  • Find Turner. (accepts the quest)
Step 1: Turner

Welcome.

Were you able to offer Miles any consolation?

  • Yes, but something serious has happened in the meantime.

Hmm, whatever do you mean?

I wouldn't bat an eyelid at almost anything in these troubled times.

  • Someone tried to kidnap the Sage.

What? Kidnap?

Who in the world would even try something so unthinkable?

Is the Sage okay?

  • Fortunately, the Sage was unharmed. They're still looking for the culprit.

I see. Well, I hope they catch whoever it is soon.

... Hmm, but you'd only have two reasons for coming to see me in such circumstances...

Either you suspect me, or you think I might know who's responsible. Am I right?

  • Actually, you're right. I don't know anything about you, so...

I'm not sure what you think of me, but I like to keep things strictly above board.

I'd never commit such a craven act, unlike some...

  • Some? Just who might you be referring to?

Ah, it's nothing. I do tend to prattle on uselessly sometimes.

Anyway, the point is that I had nothing to do with it.

  • Well, about that. The reason I'm wondering about you, Turner, is because you're like a blank slate to me.

Haha, I get it. Well, since I don't have anything to hide, I'd be happy to tell you all about me.

But nothing's free in this world. I'll need you to do a favor for me first.

  • What kind of favor? I'd be glad to help!

Umm...

I'm not sure if you'll be able to do this for me or not, Warrior.

I need you to go defeat a Death Prime Knight of Eternity in the Eternal Chaos Arena.

  • I'll be finished before you know it.
Step 1, afterwards: Turner

Do this for me and I'll tell you all about myself.

Well, I hope to you see back here again in one piece.

  • Get going.
Turn-in: Turner

Ah, so you came through after all.

Well, I'm not exactly thrilled about laying myself bare, but we had a deal.

I'll tell you about my past.

  • Listen to the next story.

Now, where should I start?

I suppose it might be best to begin by telling you I was born a child of Rebels wandering the Arcane Trace.

These are memories from a very early age.

  • He was originally a Rebel in the Arcane Trace.

My parents were the type of Rebels who resorted to robbing passersby to sustain themselves.

I was an obedient child and served as their little pickpocket sidekick.

Aldebaran eventually saved me from that fate by taking me on as his pupil.

  • You were Aldebaran's pupil? What blessing from heaven led to such a turn of fortune?

How did I come to meet Aldebaran, you mean?

It was pure happenstance, that.

It was also the turning point of my life.

I was somewhere near the academy beating up other children my age for food. Aldebaran happened to be passing by and saw me.

  • Listen to the next story.

Aldebaran went to my parents and told them I had talent that was going to waste. He convinced them to let me enroll at the academy.

But my parents...

Well, not only did they lack money, but they had almost zero affection for their little robber boy.

They simply demanded that Aldebaran give them money in return.

  • ... You must resent your parents for that.

Actually, I bear them almost no ill will at all.

I understand why they behaved the way they did.

They merely wanted to survive...

Aldebaran felt sorry for me, so he agreed to their terms and took me in as his adopted son.

I strived to do my best as a student and graduated early with the highest grades in my class.

  • It seems Aldebaran completely changed his life.

Being the closest student to Aldebaran, I ended up helping him with his work after my graduation.

But, you know what?

Aldebaran didn't have a good relationship with the two Sages Capella and Procyon.

... Hmm, this story has run longer than I originally intended.

I'll tell you the rest the next time we meet.

  • So Turner was Aldebaran's pupil. Who would have imagined that? (completes the quest)
