Suspicious Circumstances

Huh? Why the long face?

Did something happen?

• No, it's nothing...

It doesn't seem like nothing!

What is it? You might feel better if you let it out.

• Well, have you ever seen this picture before?

Huh? Where did you find this?

This picture was drawn by Guard Miles' dead brother!

He dreamed of becoming an artist...

• ... Miles' younger brother drew this!? (accepts the quest)

Hmm, what is it?

Are you here with another detestable order from the Sage?

• Have you ever seen this picture?

Oh, that picture... Where did you get it?

It was... drawn by my younger brother.

• I found it in the Sage's Quarters. He was attacked yesterday night. Were... you the one responsible?

What!?

Well, it's true I do bear a grudge against the Sage for what happened to my brother.

But still, how could I, a mere guard of a town, be capable of such a thing!?

How could you accuse me of such a thing? This is ridiculous!

• Miles is hopping mad. It seems it was a mistake to suspect him.

Does the Sage suspect me too?

How absurd. To be treated in this way while I grieve for a lost member of my family...

I really didn't do it.

I'd stake my life on my innocence!

• Calm down Miles. They're not certain it was you.

There is clearly some sort of plot behind this...

I don't think the Sage ever wanted to be at odds with the people like this...

Or am I just too willing to put my faith in the Sage even in these terrible times?

• Go tell Elena what you've learned.

Warrior, you've come.

... What did Miles have to say for himself?

• He was really angry. It definitely wasn't him.

Is that so...

I owe him an apology, then.

To be honest, I had no idea the citizens were so unhappy.

• I had no clue they were this upset either...

Still, it's strange that the situation has developed to the point where we have no choice but to suspect Miles.

Perhaps the attack was purposely staged so that we'd develop such suspicions.

• ... I don't know how I can even look at Miles now.

There must be a faction pulling the strings from behind the scenes.

We could simply assume it's the work of Capella, but I'm not so sure.

There may be another player in this game that I don't even know about.

Does anything come to mind?

A stranger who suddenly appeared out of nowhere, or something.

• Turner comes to mind for some reason... You'd better just keep that to yourself for now, though. (completes the quest)
