Quest journal
A spell of cold dry weather has attacked the entire Midreth continent and many people have died because of the strange weather phenomenon. The people of Midreth suspected that the disaster might be a curse of the Berserk Ghouls in Undead Ground. If this is true, will it be possible to stop this intensed cold by slaughtering them?
After all, it did not have anything to do with the Berserk Ghouls. There has not been any change in the harsh weather. However, the people find it hard to believe that some monsters are smart enough to plot things. It is highly possible that this is a part of the monster clans' conspiracy. But for now ignorance is bliss for the people.
Dialogue
Offer: Fissher (Warehouse Keeper)
Phew, though this place is well known for its brutal cold, it has been almost unbearable of late.
Although I thought I had become quite used to it after being assigned to the Bloody Ice branch, It seems that this is a first.
It's been reported that other polises, and not just here, have undergone sudden and serious cold spells that have even taken the lives of a number of people.
- Listen to more.
As we receive a variety of news about the Cont. Midreth, it's said that the unexpected severe cold spell of late is causing many problems.
Famous for its murderous cold, Bloody Ice has traditionally turned away fighters who do not have a certain level of strength.
- It's very cold today as well.
As Bloody Ice is not like any other regular residential colony, the people cannot be expected to endure.
As nothing of this nature has ever arisen before, I fear that it may be some sort of portent of something momentous that will occur.
- Nevareth does seem to be different now than normal.
Since the cold is so severe, some are saying that it is due to a curse from a certain demon here in this land of death.
They talk of the Berserk Ghoul in the Undead Ground. At times, such talk seems totally baseless, and at other times, there does appear to be some possible truth to it.
- Berserk Ghoul?
Though nothing can be known for sure, and killing those Berserk Ghouls would not guarantee any improvement
Even so, the fears of the people may be alleviated a bit by doing so.
To wit, even if it is found that this cannot be attributed to demons, it would at least lay one fear to rest.
Will you help?
- Yes, I shall go and kill them.
As it is such a dangerous task, I was not able to even voice it easily...
As you have offered to kill them, I am very grateful.
I thank you on the behalf of all the people of Midreth.
You know the way to go to the Undead Ground, do you not?
As the Berserk Ghoul is usually starving, take special care.
- Go to the Undead Ground. (accepts the quest)
Turn-in: Fissher (Warehouse Keeper)
Did you kill them? Ah, you've truly gone to much trouble!
Indeed, fear has caused the talk among people to swell.
As expected, nothing has changed even after those Berserk Ghouls were dealt with.
- Indeed, it seems that way.
As it was asserted that recent deaths could be attributed to those terrible demons, since they like to feed on humans,
when one thinks about it objectively, it makes no sense. Even if a demon were to improve intellectually, how high could it go... Ha ha.
Anyway, if this cold spell continues in the Cont. Midreth, there is sure to be much damage.
I am truly worried.
- What can the cause of this cold spell be? (completes the quest)
