In Cabal Online, Alz comes from monsters, from quests and, above all, from selling what you don't use. The server's drop table doesn't say how much Alz each monster drops, but it does say exactly where the items that drive the economy drop: Upgrade Core, Force Core, Slot Extender and Astral Bike cards. Farming Alz is, in practice, farming those items in the place with the best drop rate and selling them to other players.
| Before level 100 | Main quests: they pay more than farming at the same level |
|---|---|
| Solo DX dungeons | Level 110, 1 player, 20–25 min; Awakened level 150 |
| High or Highest core per DX chest | 24.875% |
| Best place for Slot Extenders | Labyrinth (level 200, 1 player): 0.03% for High, 0.0075% for Highest |
| Alz drop items | Forbidden Island (level 125, 7 players), chest, 7.7% each |
Where Alz comes from depending on your level
The sources change with your level, and the order is already in the equipment upgrade guide:
- Up to level 100: main quests. They pay far more than farming at the same level, and quest gear is enough until then. Don't spend on upgrading something you'll replace in ten levels.
- Dungeon entry items. If they drop and you don't use them, other players pay for them; the DX ones drop on the map of their entrance. Keep them even if you don't have the level yet.
- From level 110: solo dungeons. Panic Cave, Steamer Crazy, Catacomb Frost and Lava Hellfire drop items that sell well and aren't shared with anyone.
- Cores and Slot Extenders. They are the rare drops that hold the economy together; the table below says where each one drops.
- Nation War. Its rewards are EXP, war points, honor and items, and entering costs an Alz fee based on your rank: see the Nation War guide.

| Force Core (High) | The 4 DX dungeons | Chest | 24.875% | 18 |
| Force Core (Highest) | Chaos Arena | Chest | 25% | 17 |
| Slot Extender (High) | Labyrinth | Chest | 0.03% | 24 |
| Slot Extender (Highest) | Labyrinth | Chest | 0.0075% | 31 |
| Slot Extender (Medium) | Labyrinth | Chest | 0.12% | 20 |
| Slot Extender (Low) | Lake in Dusk | Zigdris Faello | 0.08% | 9 |
| Astral Bikecard - Type: Blue | Labyrinth | Chest | 0.1% | 19 |
| Astral Bikecard - Type: RW3 | Labyrinth | Chest | 0.04% | 19 |
| Astral Bike Card - PW5 | Labyrinth | Chest | 0.0125% | 25 |
Two things the table makes clear: the best drop rate for High and Highest grade cores is in chests (24.875% in the four DX dungeons and up to 25% in Chaos Arena), although monsters drop them too: in the field, FP-01 Magnus Penna, TA-01 Gravis Rota and MA-06 Quadra drop the Upgrade Core (High) at 15.72% in Pontus Ferrum; and, for the Low grade, Pogarr and Jidarsch drop the Upgrade Core (Low) at 18.06% inside the Lake in Dusk dungeon. And Slot Extenders are genuinely rare (0.03% is, on average, once every 3,300 chests). In the field, the best drop rate for the Slot Extender (High) is 0.02% in Pontus Ferrum and Lakeside; for the Slot Extender (Medium), 0.05% in Forgotten Ruin. Entry items are not in this table: the DX ones drop on the map of their entrance (per the DX dungeons guide); the Map Part drops only from Fort. Ruina monsters at 0.02% and the Epaulet of the Dead only from Undead Ground monsters at 0.02%.

| Labyrinth | 200 | 1 | 20 min | Dragon Slate | Best place for the Slot Extender High (0.03%), Medium (0.12%) and Highest (0.0075%) and for the bike cards (the Slot Extender (Low) doesn't drop here); Upgrade Core and Force Core Highest 20%, High 15% |
| Lake in Dusk | 55 | 7 | 60 min | Map Part | Slot Extender (Low) 0.08% (Zigdris Faello); Upgrade Core (Low) 18.06% (Pogarr, Jidarsch) |

The four DX dungeons have four difficulties (Easy, Normal, Hard and Premium); Premium requires a different entry item (Explorer's Special Journal, Another Ruined Train Card, New Frozen Clue and Ever-Heated Hot Lava Stone). All of this, with the rarest items from each chest, is in the DX dungeons guide; the full table for each chest is on each dungeon's page.
Items that raise the Alz drop
The drop table has three items with Alz in their name: Alz Drop Rate, Alz Drop Amount and Alz Bomb Chance. All three are level 120 and drop in a single place: the Forbidden Island chest, at 7.7% each.
Forbidden Island is a level 125 dungeon for up to 7 players and 60 minutes, with an Awakened version at level 140. You enter with the Lost Island Compass, and its chest also drops Upgrade Core (High) at 9.68% and Force Core (Highest) at 9.78%: it's not a wasted run even if none of the three drops.
How not to lose the Alz you earn
- Don't sell to the NPC what is worth something on the market: cores, Slot Extenders, bike cards and entry items are sold to other players.
- Don't buy from the NPC shop what other players sell cheaper.
- Check the item's grade before using a core: one of the wrong grade is useless.
- Don't spend it all: with no potions and no entry items you farm nothing.
- Spending order: a mount, the weapon for your level with good options, potions, and only then risky upgrades. The mounts guide explains which one is worth it.
The full list of items, with every location and drop rate, is in the most wanted drops and in the item pages; every dungeon on the server, by level, is in the dungeon list.
