1. “Windows protected your PC” when opening the launcher
It is the standard Windows warning for a new program without a commercial signature. Click More info → Run anyway. Download the launcher only from the download page.
2. The antivirus blocks or deletes the launcher
Some antivirus programs (Avast, for example, with its “ransomware shield”) stop unsigned programs from writing to Desktop or Documents. That is why the launcher installs to C:\Cabal Latino. If it still blocks it, add that folder to the antivirus exclusions: the anti-cheat and the launcher do a lot of disk reads and some antivirus programs slow them down.
3. The download stalls or does not progress
Close and reopen the launcher: it continues where it left off and only downloads what is missing. If the problem is your connection, wait for it to come back and try again. The full client is about 9 GB; the download guide shows how long it takes on your connection.
4. “File is corrupt” / “version fail” when starting the game
A client file does not match the server's (it usually happens if the game closed badly or if files from another server got mixed in). Open the launcher: it checks every file by its hash and re-downloads the ones that do not match. Nothing to delete by hand. Never mix the Cabal Latino client with another server's.
5. d3dx9 error (missing d3dx9_xx.dll)
Install Microsoft's DirectX 9 runtime (June 2010). Windows 10 and 11 ship DirectX 12, but not all the old libraries the game uses.
6. The game closes or disconnects because of XignCode
XignCode is the server's anti-cheat. Close any program that modifies or injects into the game (macros, hacks, third-party overlays): they cause the disconnect and can get the account suspended. If you use none of that and still get disconnected, try adding the game folder to the antivirus exclusions and running the launcher as administrator.
7. “Wrong username or password”
You log in with the same username and password as the website. If you do not remember it, recover it by e-mail in a minute. The account must be verified (the code sent to your e-mail when registering).
8. It runs slowly or stutters
Update your graphics drivers, install the game on an SSD if you have one, lower effects and view distance before resolution, and close the browser and Discord with hardware acceleration if your GPU is tight. Details in requirements and performance.
9. Mac or Linux?
There is no official client. Some players run it with Wine or Proton, but the anti-cheat may prevent it and we do not support those setups.
