It's been a while since you last came here.

So, how are you doing nowadays? You look good.

• Do you know anything about the Restoration of Machine Civilization?

Hmm...Why are you asking me that all of a sudden? Hmm...

What I've heard from the Weapon Merchants' Association is all I know about the Restoration of Machine Civilization.

According to the records on the Ancient Civilization, there was a noted doctor named Grem, and he was the pioneer of the Mechanical Science.

I was told that he was originally a researcher of biological chemistry, but then a special incident made him change his area of study to mechanical science.

• A special incident?

The incident was that...Dr. Grem had a son who was hard to conceive, but then the son fell from a tree after climbing it to the top.

Fortunately he lived, but his son became crippled and could never walk again. Just think about how he would have felt when something like that happened to a son he loved so much. Whew!

So Dr. Grem decided that he would try anything to make his son walk again, and he madly started searching for ways to do that.

• Was mechanical scient one of them?

You can say that.

The monster clan we now call the Metal Clan was not really monsters but just rare creatures friendly to us humans, but no one knew about their origin or history.

One day, Dr. Grem saw that these rare machines can be disassembled into body parts, and began to think that he should be able to make a pair of mechanical legs for his son to walk again if he applied the technology of assembling and disassembling the body parts.

• Oh, just like those in Fort. Ruina?

That's right.

We're now able to replace some of our body parts with machines thanks to Dr. Grem's research.

But for Dr. Grem, it was like creating a new field of study since there were no books to refer to...and he broke the law by holding some of the machines in his lab and started experimenting on them.

Just like today, the machines thought and felt just like humans, so what he did was inhumane...So Dr. Grem kept his study a secret.

• So? How did the research turn out?

After years of toil and moil, Dr. Grem finally discovered the History of the Machine Civilization that once flourished before the human civilization came into existence, and started restoring the civilization.

Of course the Restoration of Machine Civilization was conducted solely for the benefit of humans because he started the research with the sole purpose of making his son walk again...What I mean is that he had no respect for the Machine Civilization.

So this is the story about the Restoration of Machine Civilization that you wanted to know.

• Okay. Thank you for telling me this story. (completes the quest)
