Quest journal
Speak with the magic dealer about upgrade cores.
You need to find an Upgrade Core and Armor. Hunt Red Garlies in Desert Scream and Scorlug in Bloody Ice to gain a training Upgrade Core and Armor.
Now you know about Core Upgrading.
Dialogue
Offer: Gette (Instructor)
Do you know that you can use either an upgrade core or Force core to upgrade your equipment?
If you wish to learn more detail, go see the magic dealer. Those dealers are also known as 'core alchemists.'
- Go meet the magic dealer. (accepts the quest)
- I'm not curious.
In progress: Gette (Instructor)
Although the upgrade core and Force core are very difficult to procure, it's said that the magic dealer owns a number of such special cores for educational purposes and has hidden them in various places.
As only magic dealers can execute the refinement process to produce true cores, do not have the false notion that you can perform an upgrade if you happen to come upon such a core.
- Understood.
Step 1: Sullivan (Core Alchemist)
I see you've come after speaking with the instructor. Then, I shall tell you about core upgrades.
As the process involves several stages, listen carefully. You must go through the process to understand it thoroughly.
- Next Dialogue.
- Forget it.
You can upgrade by using Upgrade Cores and Force Cores.
Upgrade Cores allow you to upgrade your items. You can upgrade items up to +20.
You can only upgrade items in the item upgrade UI.
Keep in mind that you can access the item upgrade UI by right-clicking on an Upgrade Core, pressing the Upgrade button at the bottom left of the inventory screen, or through the Cabal menu's Item Upgrade menu to the right of the Quickslot.
- Next Dialogue.
If you go and retrieve the upgrade core and equipment for upgrade that I've kept for practical purposes and have hidden, I will show you an upgrade monsterstration.
You will be able to obtain the upgrade core from the Red Garlie, and the equipment for upgrade from the Scorlug, which is in Bloody Ice.
- I will go now.
- I do not need it.
Turn-in: Sullivan (Core Alchemist)
Everything seems to be in order.
As this core is one that I've hidden and kept for educational purposes, it would have been impossible for you to upgrade the item by yourself. I have to refine it, you see.
As you may have noticed, you have to use items called Upgrade Cores in order to upgrade your items. Got it?
- Tell me more.
But that's not all.
You still need to Adding Item Attribute by using a Force Core.
If you want to know about Adding Attribute, take a short break and come back.
