Turn-in: Nodaka (Core Alchemist)
What are you doing here?
- I want to learn about the Bloody Promise.
Hmm...I guess you're qualified to hear about the Bloody Promise since you asked me the question without any hesitation.
Hmm...The Bloody Promise...refers to the origin of a secret society formed by the psychics who have survived under the government suppression before the Great Destruction.
How did it go? Oh!
The earth-bound spirits sleeping in the Bloody Swamp will make the ground firm, and the Bloody Souls will gladly become the darkness of new light.
- Become the darkness of new light?
Oh...It roughly means that after enough time has passed, long enough that the wet swamp becomes solid ground, the secret society will sacrifice just about anything to build a new world.
The psychics really hated the fact that the government was controlling all the information and research organizations on the Force, and their final goal was to build a new world.
But the secret society collapsed after the leader was identified and a series of internal conflicts.
- The identity of the society leader?
I'm not so sure.
What I heard was that the leader of the society was possessed by the Tragic Spirit Born by the Great Disaster in the Red Land.
The psychics had joined the secret society with the common goal to build a better world without monopoly or control. But they were thrown into utter confusion when they found out that the founder of the society was being controlled by a spirit whose aim was to conquer and destroy the world.
- So what happened after that?
The internal conflict deepened even more as a number of brave members began fighting with the leader of the society, or actually the spirit that possessed him, and a bloody war between the psychics ensued.
At the end, hundreds of psychics concentrated all their energy into one, were finally able to defeat the spirit's power and seal it in an abyss of darkness.
In the process, so many members had lost their lives, and they no longer had the power nor will to change the world.
That's how their Bloody Promise was forgotten like a puff of smoke.
- How do you know all these?
Ha-ha! It's because I'm the descendant of one of the psychics who had survived.
But you shouldn't be surprised at this, because most of the people living in Nevareth have a story or two like this in their lives.
If you have the time, take a look into each of their life. You will hear quite interesting stories that you didn't know before.
- Okay, I'll do that. (completes the quest)
