The Volcanic Citadel

Welcome to our colony. Our colony may have a locational disadvantage compared to other colonies, but no one can deny that its scenery is beyond description, and we are doing our best to accommodate warriors by providing high quality services that they need. So, please drop by as often as you can.

As you know, Port Lux has an active volcano called Exilian Volcano, and it is very common to see various kinds of volcanic rocks around this colony.

• Sorry, I am too busy today.

Recently, we have discovered a peculiar volcano rock which even has not been reported to the academic world.

Strangely, its color is transparent red which is quite unbelievable considering the fact that it is a molten rock.

To study the origin of the rock, Sage Tower has dispatched several researchers.

However, they have not gained any fruitful result with their research, and thus, no one knows how it is created.

At least we know one thing: where the rock was firstly discovered.

Do you know that Dark Bladers are inhabiting within a coastal area near the volcano? You know the beach after where Stone Golems are roaming around.

When you arrive there, you will find several entrances that are lead to the underground. Yes, the rock was found from the underground.

Hey, do you want to know how we found this out?

• How?

At the beginning, this island used to be a place of exile: basically, this land was abandoned by society.

Ever since this island became a special colony, may people have immigrated to this place, but strangely, almost every islander disappeared as if by magic.

No one could figure out how they moved out of this island since there was no transportation to the continent available at that time. It was so strange how those many people disappeared almost simultaneously.

Then, one of them has come back.

• Something bad might have happened. Let's keep listening.

He was wearing unfamiliar armor, and had a strange weapon with him. Another eerie thing about him was that he did not look aged at all despite the fact that he disappeared for such a long time. He looked at the researchers' red volcano rock, and told them that the rock is called Seal of the Darkness, and where the rock was firstly discovered.

With the information, we decided to dispatch an expedition to the place.

• And then, what happened?

Something horrible happened to the expedition. According to the survivors of the expedition, 'hellish creatures are living under there'.

With the eyewitness evidence, we came to a conclusion that someone must have built a fortress under the volcano, and confined mysterious legendary creatures of Honorable Age within the fortress. Everyone including the researchers and the survivors were horrified upon the realization.

• What kind of monster would they be?

Everything was a mystery: who built the fortress, and why?

However, before we figured out the mystery, unfortunately the comeback islander passed away.

It was also a mystery because his aging process suddenly became accelerated ever since he came back to this island, and then he passed away 3 days later.

Although his cause of death was an old age, the aging process was so unnatural.

• It is creepy just by hearing it.

You may consider that we have not even started the actual expedition yet. In fact, we are having a hard time to recruit volunteers for the expedition.

I don't mean to make you uncomfortable, but if you are interested in the job, I can provide you a Seal of the Darkness, so that you can go check out the place any time you want.

We call the place Volcanic Citadel.

Before you make up your mind, please remember this: only a few warriors have come back alive from the place.

• The officer has given you a Seal of the Darkness. (completes the quest)
