[A story of a talented and arrogant warrior]

The Vanity family produced many great warriors of Nevareth,

and they served the noble Devitare family for generations.

As the leader of his family as well as the captain guard of the Devitares, Siegfried Vanity was a great warrior.

  • Yes, he was a strong opponent.

[A story of a talented and arrogant warrior]

Siegfried's master had two daughters: Tilia and Siena.

Both of them were remarkably beautiful, intelligent, and elegant.

Siegfried was the personal guard of Siena. Siena's unrespectable behavior sometimes perplexed him, but he tried to be understanding for most times.

After all, she was just a kid who liked playing around.

  • Siena must have been a lovely kid. (accepts the quest)

[A story of a talented and arrogant warrior]

One day,

an unsung swordswoman came to have a match with Siegfried.

He knew this later, but she was a disciple of the First Sage and reputed as the Greatest Blader of the continent. She was on a journey to practice her fencing skills.

Not knowing who he's dealing with, Siegfried underestimated her simply because she was a woman.

He was being himself, arrogant.

  • The Greatest Blader of the continent? ...Is she?

[A story of a talented and arrogant warrior]

Siegfried didn't know Siena was watching them from afar. While he was fighting the swordswoman, Siena sneaked out and went on a picnic to a nearby forest.

Siegfried was too busy fighting the swordsman to know that Siena left the mansion.

1 hour passed by, and then 2 hours...

Unlike the calm swordswoman, Siegfried was panting and sweating.

Siegfried was mad that he was cornered by a mere woman.

  • His arrogance had it coming.

[A story of a talented and arrogant warrior]

The swordswoman soundly defeated Siegfried. Enraged, he quickly retreated to his place.

After a while, Siena was brought home wounded. Then he realized that he failed to protect her. And that's when he promised to himself that he would do anything to protect her.

Since then, he's been protecting Siena even after she turned into a monster.

  • That's too much to pay for his arrogance.

Turn-in: Wall of Arrogant Truth

[Promise that is more valuable than life]

I may have made the promise

as part of my regret

for wrongdoing.

I may have made the promise

to repent

my arrogant behavior.

I may have made the promise

as an excuse

to cover my fault.

  • Let's take a closer look.

[Promise that is more valuable than life]

I wish everyone in the world

will know

that I abandoned my life

for the sake of the promise.

I wish everyone in the world

will know

that I was determined to keep my promise

no matter what others said.

As a true warrior,

I valued the promise more than my life.

  • He is a monster, but deserves respect. (completes the quest)
